I designed this based on a very specific ruler on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009OR2MK6 ) With a few changes, it would probably work better with other measuring sticks that have a groove or something similar. This one was very simple to make, and it was my first CAD project. I just needed something to quickly measure my Surface Pro 9 for a separate project, but it was extremely difficult to read the rounded edges; this device helped by clamping the two sides together to obtain a more accurate measurement (sure, I could have simply looked up the dimensions, but where’s the fun in that?). At present, it relies solely on pure friction for clamping; a screw, a knurled knob screw, or a similar mechanism to secure it firmly would be even better.
