Model Overview & Print Notes

Summary Mt Tavurvur, near Rabaul, New Britain in Papua New Guinea constructed using 1 arcsecond resolution SRTM data from the Space Shuttle (about 1.9 million polygons). It is a stratovolcano that is part of the Rabaul caldera. It was made using a new and, as yet, unreleased version of SRTM2STL. The source code for creating files at 3 arcsecond resolution is available up on github under the GNU license. Go to github and search for SRTM2STL. If you've never seen the YouTube video of the eruption then, you probably should. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hx5UecbuYw8 Instructions You may want to print this to be relatively small. I used to get warping using PLA and it got bad when I try to print Raised Relief Maps that are big. Now that I have a heated bed, I get much better results.
