Model Overview & Print Notes

Summary Epinephrine (C9H13NO3, CAS 51-43-4) — a free educational 3D molecular model for teachers and students, by MolGod.org. Symbols are engraved into every atom, so students read atoms by symbol, not by colour. Most printable molecule files rely on colour coding, yet the STL format carries no colour and a single-filament print loses it entirely. Each atom of a MolGod model is engraved with its element symbol, turning a plain print into a self-explaining teaching object. Every file is meant for the classroom: designed to help learners identify atoms quickly and then explore how they are joined in the molecule. It shortens the path from lesson plan to printed model, because no one has to build the molecule or add labels by hand. Background, references and the planned classroom study: https://molgod.org/engraved-molecular-models/ . Let the group sketch what they see in Epinephrine, namely one aromatic 6-membered ring; afterwards they compare the sketch with the 26 bonds on the model (20 single and 6 aromatic, drawn in Kekulé form). Students work from the model back to the formula C9H13NO3: the symbol count is 9 C + 13 H + 1 N + 3 O, or 26 atoms all told. Name-and-locate exercise: students find the two phenolic hydroxyl groups (Ar-OH), the hydroxyl group (-OH) and the secondary amino group (-NH-) on the model and afterwards write the name of every group they found. Ask students to locate one stereocentre in Epinephrine and work out the R/S label by hand; the record gives R. A good fit for lessons on aromaticity and delocalised electrons, on chirality, enantiomers and CIP (R/S) rules, on alcohols and hydrogen bonding, on phenols and hydrogen bonding, as well as on amines and basicity. Free for education: MolGod.org publishes engraved molecular models for teachers, students and schools. Teachers: use it as a hands-on starter before drawing the structural formula on the board. Free to print and free to bring into any classroom. If you share a photo, a lesson or an adapted version, the licence (CC BY-SA 4.0) asks for credit to "MolGod.org" as the model's author, a link to the original and to the licence text, a note of what you changed, and the same licence for adaptations; the attribution line below is ready to copy. There is no registration, no payment and no obligation to rate it. Your comments decide what we improve next, from engraving depth to which molecules we add. We also build models on request: tell us the CAS number of any molecule and we will prepare an engraved version.
