Styracosaurus — 3D Scan
This Styracosaurus was digitized using the scanner in cross-line laser mode. I captured three scans from different angles, then aligned and merged them to create the complete model.
A few minor imperfections remain: the figure’s articulated legs moved slightly between scans, which affected their alignment. The result isn’t perfect, but comparing the original with the 3D-printed version already shows many faithfully reproduced details, including the frill’s surface patterns, skin folds, and ridges along the back.
The mesh was also simplified to 60% to reduce the STL file size, while retaining a good level of detail.
