Model Overview & Print Notes
Use Openscad to create labels for your garden. I always forget the names of my plants so this is a big help. The blank label for these models is 100 mm wide by 40 mm tall. The stem ( the part that goes into the ground) is 100 mm long and 12 mm wide by only 1 mm thick. I found these dimensions to be just fine and easy to insert in the ground after a little watering. The Openscad script uses the Anton Google font , but any one loaded in your computer will do. You can have one or two lines of text and adjust centering and the font size. I have used 0.25 mm layer height and do a colour change at 1.20 mm. See the Carpathian-bellflower.3mf file for details. I have included STL files for all my garden varieties. One of these might suit you. After you have printed your label, soak it in hot tap water for about a minute. Then bend it at the label-stem joint. I try to get 30 degrees from the horizontal so that it is easy to read when inserted.
