This is a high-strength 3D-printable angled wedge clamp designed for standard 40x20mm metal balcony railings. Purpose: Securely hangs lanterns, hummingbird feeders, or small planters outside, without scratching or damaging your railing. Mechanism: The core idea is a toothed angled insert. When you tighten the screw, it pushes the wedge against the metal profile at an angle, creating an extremely solid lock. The wedge direction multiplies clamping force compared to a regular perpendicular screw. End caps are used purely to prevent hanging objects (like a feeder) from falling off the hook, not for anti-scratch or softening. Strength: Printed in Carbon Fiber PETG, the clamp feels extremely rigid and solid. Tested with a 500g glass nectar jar without any flex or slip. For most plastics (PETG, ASA, ABS), this design will hold up very well. PLA is possible, but less recommended due to creep under constant load. Customizable: Model is parametrized for 40x20mm rails, but can be easily adjusted in any CAD software. The wedge and screw mechanism is universal; just change dimensions as needed. Assembly: Print all parts. Slide the angled wedge into the main arm. Tighten the screw to lock the clamp on your rail. Attach end cap to the hook to prevent accidental slips. Hang your lantern, feeder, or whatever else you want outside. Tips: Print with at least 3 perimeters, 50–100% infill for main parts. Use strong filaments (PETG, ASA, ABS, or CF-filled).
