Model Overview & Print Notes
Description This is a simple model, there are other WDT tools out there, but I like to share it because I found something interesting which make my design unique: The 3D printer nozzle cleaning needle, that you probably already have a pack of and never used, is exactly the same as the one used in a WDT tool. So, you may not have to buy them. How to fit the needle tight and still easy to take out? just use a fit or slightly loose hole, and bend the needle a bit. This is much easier solution that the handel is simply one piece, and super reliable. Another interesting finding: the 3D printer nozzle can replace an espresso machine steam wand nozzle. (There are many specs; in my case, they are both M5 threads, which match directly.) Back to the WDT tool model, it is very straightforward; just some hints here: Use the tester print (1.6 to 2.0mm holes at 0.1mm step) to choose the correct hole size; you want the needle to go in just right or a bit loose, not too tight. The model is at hole size 1.8mm; model it yourself or zoom it to fit. Bend the needle where it has the springs that are closer to the end, and insert it. In this way, the needle will stay tight but can still come out easily. I used an M4 screw just for aesthetics and adding a little weight, and I used a 5x3 magnet at the top for easy use. Both the screw and magnet are optional; you can print a cap or base to fit your setup.
