9cm PLA Moon Model with Stand Surface geometry is based on NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) LOLA laser altimetry dataset. Crater and mare positions match the real Moon, scaled to 10.5 cm with the relief exaggerated for visibility at that size. What's included Two hemispheres (upper/lower), pre-split for support-free printing One 4-point wooden cradle stand STL All three files positioned as separate plate-ready objects — no repositioning needed before slicing Assembly The two halves join with an adhesive, glue required. Press together by hand; the interference fit gives a firm, removable hold. – IT CAN BE ILLUMINATED!! – (I didn't plan that, it just can) Print settings Orientation: both hemispheres flat-face-down as exported, dome up — no supports required Layer height: 0.16–0.2mm recommended to resolve surface detail Infill: shell is pre-hollowed in the source geometry, so 10–15% is plenty Stand: prints flat-bottom-down, no supports needed Stand - Two identical wooden arms cross at 90°, contacting the sphere at four points near its widest section.
