I designed this nozzle with three goals in mind: it needed to reliably deliver Mentos into the bottle, produce a tall, concentrated reaction stream, and be easy to attach and remove from the bottle. After experimenting with different approaches, I found that the soft plastic of the original bottle cap provided the best thread engagement and seal. Rather than trying to replicate the bottle threads in a 3D print, I decided to incorporate the actual cap into the design. The center of the cap is removed, and the printed nozzle is glued directly to it, combining the convenience and reliability of the factory bottle threads with the strength and precision of a printed nozzle. The result is a nozzle that threads on smoothly, seals well, and integrates a simple magnetic release mechanism for remotely dropping Mentos into the bottle. Video:
