Model Overview & Print Notes

The 3D-printed DIY remote-controlled dragon boat is complete! Featuring RC control, it combines a classic dragon boat design with modern remote-control technology. Every detail—from the dragon scales to the roof—has been meticulously refined, and the dragon’s head boasts stunning three-dimensional carving. With a built-in RC drive, it glides smoothly through the water. Simply toss it into a lotus pond to launch into cruising mode—it serves as both a water toy and a decorative piece, sure to delight DIY enthusiasts. Basic Specifications: Length: 286mm, Width: 106mm, Height: 136mm. Printed with a 0.2mm layer height using PLA material, the print takes approximately 10 hours and uses about 280g of filament. Model Features: 1. Compact size and simple assembly. Less than 30 cm in length, it fits in one hand. With only four parts, assembly is straightforward. All parts fit on a single build plate (using the Tuozhu P1S as an example), allowing for a single-plate print. 2. Optimized center of gravity for smooth navigation. By controlling the density and wall thickness at different heights of the hull, the design maintains buoyancy while optimizing the center of gravity and ensuring structural strength. The two stabilizing rudders on the bottom are printed with 100% infill, which reduces excessive tilting during turns and acts as ballast to lower the hull’s center of gravity. 3. Ingenious design with triple waterproofing. The engine compartment features a compartmentalized design, divided into a drive shaft compartment and a battery compartment. These two compartments are independent; even if a small amount of water enters the drive shaft compartment, it will not enter the main hull compartment, let alone the battery compartment. The external hatch is designed in a roof-like shape, perfectly concealing all electronic components while preventing water splashes from wetting them. Assembly Instructions: 1. First, attach the silicone tubing and standard shafts to the two motors (the drive shaft does not require a sleeve). Place the motors into the motor mounts, then pass the drive shaft through the hull and insert it into the rear of the boat. 2. Install the two propellers, making sure to distinguish between the left and right sides, and adjust the length of the silicone tubing and drive shaft to ensure that all drive components operate smoothly. 3. Secure the motor to the base with double-sided tape, connect the control panel and battery, place the control panel and battery in the battery compartment at the front, tidy up the wires, and close the compartment cover. 4. Attach the two stabilizers to the bottom, making sure to insert the front part first and then snap the back part into place. Use glue to secure them if necessary. Special Note: Dragon boats are not RC speedboats; they have a high center of gravity. When operating the remote control, please avoid full throttle, sudden acceleration, and sharp turns to prevent the dragon boat from capsizing.
