The work of Michelangelo Buonarroti in St. Peter's Basilica. In 1499, Pieta, who was 24 years old when Michelangelo commissioned Cardinal Languo Io, the French ambassador to the Pontiff, to create a statue to decorate his grave. Michelangelo was not paid well because the buyer died before the contract was completed. In the composition of the sculpture, the Virgin Mary is in the form of a triangle holding her Jesus on her knees from the cross, he sculpted the Virgin Mary much larger than Jesus and made it unnatural. This is not surprising compared to previous Pietas, as compared to Peru's Pietas, drawn contemporaneously.
