🛠️ Finally Complete: ED-209 from RoboCop (1987) Thank you for your patience— I'm thrilled to finally present ED-209 , the iconic robot from RoboCop (1987) ! The reason this project took so long was the joint mechanism . It took a great deal of time to design a structure that could move freely yet remain easy to assemble. Based on years of experience in 3D printing design, I’ve developed and applied an entirely new joint structure for this model. Depending on the feedback for this robot, I plan to release more designs based on this new structural concept and design philosophy in the near future. 🦾 Key Features of ED-209 Maximum Detail Faithfully recreates the appearance and atmosphere of ED-209 from the film. Functional Movement Designed to replicate almost every movement seen in the original movie. Easy Assembly While the model includes many parts, the structure is intuitive and beginner-friendly. Color Separation Designed with built-in color separation, allowing a high-quality finish even without painting. ⚙️ Printing & Assembly Tips If joint parts feel weak Increase the Shell (wall) setting from 2 to 3 in your slicer for added durability. Assembly precautions Remove all support structures before starting assembly. For parts that need to be folded and glued , make sure to align them precisely. Misalignment may cause parts to be too tight or not fit at all. Double-check the orientation when connecting the torso to the thighs —they must be assembled front-to-back correctly. Some arm parts are labeled with L and R to avoid confusion—please verify them carefully. The elbow joints are relatively delicate , so when adjusting arm positions, be sure to hold the elbow securely while moving . ➡️ For full assembly instructions and movement demonstrations, please refer to the included video . 🎬 A Tribute to RoboCop Fans RoboCop (1987) remains a legendary film in the history of sci-fi, and continues to have a strong fanbase to this day. Many makers have reached out to me over time, asking for a 3D-printable ED-209, and though it took a while, I’m happy to finally deliver this long-awaited model. I hope all of you who love classic sci-fi will enjoy building and displaying this piece.
