Model Overview & Print Notes

🐉 Meet Zhang Wei the Mountain Dragon! This is my version of a 45cm fully articulated Chinese-style dragon designed for reliable print-in-place FDM printing. I have added files for a longer neck if you want to try out that version! Zhang Wei features strong joints, great bed adhesion, detailed features and a flexible, twisty scaled and horned body. If you choose to print the dragon with whiskers they are printed seperately and inserted into the holes on the snout and fit tigthly during play. This cute dragon can be printed with confidence due to its large first layer surface area, and I designed it to save time and material for single color and multicolor prints by keeping the scaled outer walls free of overhangs that require slow print speed and colors are used at strategic heights for AMS/CFS systems. I have included STL and 3mf files for the Print-in-Place Flexi Chinese Dragon with a version with and without whiskers. I also added a file that allows you to customise the model so you can add or remove segments, just make sure to position them properly so they can move freely. The model can be downscaled according to your printer tolerances, just make sure it looks good in the slicer. The whiskers can also be scaled to accomodate the tolerances of your 3d printer. 🐲 AFTER PRINTING Once the print has finished let the bed cool down, then gently flex the bed and the dragon should be able to peel off the bed easily and start its journey with you! ❤️ SUPPORT HFX DESIGNS If you enjoy Zhang Wei, please consider sharing a photo of your finished print and leaving a rating.
