Model Overview & Print Notes

A 3D printable snap-fit ball-and-socket joint designed for articulated models, movable figures, flexi builds, mechanical prototypes, and custom assemblies. The joint uses a rounded ball connector and a recessed socket with an internal retaining lip. The parts press together and snap into place, creating a secure connection while still allowing rotational movement after assembly. Useful for articulated creatures, action figures, segmented models, robotic parts, poseable props, custom toys, and prototype mechanisms. The joint can be scaled or modified to suit different model sizes and clearance requirements. Best results will depend on printer accuracy, material, layer height, and tolerance. PLA, PETG, ABS, and similar FDM materials can be used, with PETG or other slightly flexible materials often providing better snap-fit durability. Digital STL file intended for 3D printing and prototyping. ## 3D Printing Settings Designed for standard FDM or resin 3D printing. Recommended FDM materials: PLA, PLA+, PETG, ABS, or similar filament. Recommended resin materials: Standard, ABS-like, tough, or similar UV resin. FDM layer height: 0.16–0.20 mm recommended. Resin layer height: 0.03–0.05 mm recommended for high detail. FDM infill: 10–20% recommended for most decorative prints. FDM walls: 2–3 minimum. FDM nozzle: Standard 0.4 mm recommended. Supports: May be required depending on model orientation, scale, printer, and slicer settings. Brim/Raft: Optional depending on bed adhesion and model geometry. For resin printing, hollowing, drain holes, orientation, and support placement should be adjusted for the specific model and resin printer. Proper washing and UV curing are required after printing. Models may be resized in your slicer as needed. Print time and material usage will vary depending on scale, layer height, infill, printer, material, and slicer settings. Digital STL files may require normal post-processing such as support removal, sanding, priming, painting, curing, or assembly depending on the design. Unless specifically stated otherwise, models are intended for decorative, collectible, or hobby use. They are not certified for food contact, medical use, structural applications, safety equipment, or other critical applications. Resin prints should not be used for direct food contact unless an appropriate certified coating or material system is used. Keep small parts away from young children.
