Model Overview & Print Notes

The Mantarra Hand Fan is a premium, functional 3D-printed fan inspired by the smooth, flowing curves of a manta ray. Designed for clean movement, structural rigidity, and aesthetic appeal, this model delivers a refined, modern look suitable for events, fashion, branding, and everyday use. The solid blades combined with the patterned decorative tips create a stylish contrast that can be enhanced through filament color swaps or multicolor printing. Use & Purpose Perfect for weddings, parties, cosplay, performers, branding activations, photo sessions, or as an elegant everyday accessory. Its shape provides excellent airflow while maintaining a minimalist, sophisticated silhouette. Key Features Smooth manta-ray-inspired blade geometry Strong single-wall arms with reinforced edges Decorative circular pattern designed for easy dual-color printing Works perfectly with PLA or PETG Optimized for fast printing with no supports Ideal for color swapping at specific heights (single or multicolor printers) ## 3D Printing Settings Recommended FDM Settings (Orca Slicer) Layer Height (first layer): 0.30 mm Line Width: 0.60 mm everywhere Perimeters: 1 perimeter (single-wall optimized) Top Layers: 7 Bottom Layers: 7 Infill: None Supports: None Flow Ratio (top/bottom): 1.0 Material: PLA or PETG Notes Designed to print cleanly without supports. Best results with 0.6 mm nozzle or 0.4 mm nozzle using 0.6 mm extrusion width. PETG works well for flexibility and durability. Color Change Instructions To highlight the decorative pattern at the blade tips: Single-Extruder Printers Determine the layer height where the color should transition. Use Pause at Height in Orca Slicer. Load the new filament color. Resume printing. Multicolor Printers (Bambu Lab A1, AMS) Assign a different color to the desired layers or mesh segments. Slice and print normally. ✅ PIN ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS The fan uses a simple mechanical pin similar to a rivet: Insert the printed pin through all aligned blade holes. A small tip will protrude from the back. Trim and gently heat-soften this excess (briefly—do not overheat). Tap lightly with a small hammer to create a mushroom-shaped seal. This locks the blades securely while maintaining smooth rotational movement.
