Stop losing cutlery, utensils and food down the sides of your oven with this free‑standing oven surround gap filler, designed to fit a standard 600mm wide oven. This flexible surround closes the side and rear gaps, giving your kitchen a cleaner, more finished look while preventing those annoying “oops” moments during cooking. This design has been tested for nearly a year using Polymaker PolyFlex, surviving roasts, family meals and daily heat exposure with barely a mark. The flexible material grips the worktop and oven sides, creating a snug fit that stays in place. Recommended Materials TPU / PolyFlex (recommended for flexibility and heat resistance) PLA+ (works, but less flexible) PETG (optional for added durability) Layer Height 0.20mm for general printing 0.16mm for a smoother top surface Infill 10–15% for flexibility 3 walls for strength and grip Supports No supports required All parts are designed to print cleanly top‑down. Print Orientation Print top‑down on the bed Use 10–15 solid bottom layers to create a rigid top surface The remaining structure prints with low infill to allow “squish” and grip Fitting Instructions Ensure the oven is level with the worktop. Centre the oven in the gap and push it back without crushing pipes or wiring. Measure your gaps — scale the model if needed. Slide the surround into place; the flexible walls will grip the sides. Disclaimer This design has been tested extensively, but every kitchen setup is different. Use at your own discretion. Safety: Not recommended to put hot pans directly on the surround.
