Model Overview & Print Notes

🔧 CO₂ Sensor Enclosure – Compact & Modular Case for MG-811 + ESP32 This is a custom-designed 3D printable enclosure tailored for housing a carbon dioxide (CO₂) sensor module (MG-811) along with an ESP32 or Arduino Nano microcontroller and a 503035 3.7V 500mAh LiPo Battery. The design ensures compactness, ease of assembly, and protection from dust and external interference, while offering great aesthetics for DIY or prototyping use. 🧩 Features: 🪶 Lightweight 1mm wall thickness – saves filament while staying strong 📦 Modular casing – separate compartments for the sensor, controller, and battery 🔌 Cutouts for GPIO, signal cable, and USB access 🧷 Slide-in top cover with ridged guides for easy maintenance 🌀 Mounting holes and raised pillars to support bolts without dust ingress 🔋 Fits standard LiPo battery (download link to model included) 🛠️ Designed for easy assembly in SolidWorks or Fusion 360 🌐 Real-time data can be served via a local webpage hosted on ESP32 (code included on GitHub) 📦 Included: Rendered images of the assembled enclosure Detailed connection info for MG-811 sensor GitHub link with: Arduino/ESP32 code for reading and displaying CO₂ data Local webserver code with real-time % display Notes on modifying and printing 🖨️ Printing Tips: Recommended layer height: 0.2 mm No supports needed (unless your printer struggles with overhangs) Material: PLA or PETG for indoor use Infill: 20–30% for the enclosure base 📢 Follow & Support: If you found this project helpful, please consider: Subscribing to our YouTube channel for more tutorials and demos Following us on Printables and Cults3D for future enclosure designs and sensor projects Giving a like or rating to help more makers discover it 🔗 YouTube: https://youtu.be/nTmAs9i0Ijo?si=LUFBspktH9Jk1jdc 🔗 GitHub: https://github.com/Edge-Neuron/Carbondioxide-sensor-casing 🔗 Sensor : https://www.digikey.in/en/products/detail/dfrobot/SEN0159/6588547 🔗Sensor 3D Model :https://grabcad.com/library/sensor-mg-881-gas-sensor-co2-1 🔗 Battery : https://electroglobal.in/product/generic-503035-3-7-v-500mah-lipo-battery-single-cell-lithium-polymer-battery 🔗 Battery 3D Model :https://grabcad.com/library/li-polymer-500-mah-battery-1 🔗 Project updates & remix ideas coming soon! ## 3D Printing Settings 🛠️ 3D Printing Settings 📦 General Print Settings: Layer Height: 0.2 mm (Standard quality) Wall Line Count: 2 (or 0.8 mm wall thickness) Top Layers: 5 Bottom Layers: 5 Infill Density: 20–30% (Grid or Gyroid recommended) Print Speed: 40–60 mm/s (slower for better dimensional accuracy) Support: Not required (unless your printer struggles with overhangs) Build Plate Adhesion: Skirt or Brim for small parts Cooling Fan: Enabled after first few layers 🧱 Material Recommendations: PLA: Easy to print, good strength for indoor use. PETG: More temperature resistant, slightly flexible—ideal for sensor enclosures. ABS (optional): More durable, but requires enclosed printer and proper ventilation. 🖨️ Orientation Tips: Bottom Casing: Lay flat on the bed. Ensure all mounting holes face upward. Top Cover: Also lay flat. Slide-in ridges should face upward to avoid layer cracking. Pillars/Mounts: If printing separately, print upright for better strength. 🧩 Assembly Notes: Print each part individually for better quality and fit. Test fit the sensor module before inserting screws. Use M2 or M3 bolts for mounting the sensor into the raised pillars. Insert the LiPo battery and microcontroller after verifying the alignment of cutouts. The slide-in cover should lock snugly; sand slightly if too tight. 🧼 Post-Processing (Optional): Light sanding of joint edges Apply a drop of oil or graphite to slide-in rails if needed Optionally paint the casing using plastic primer + acrylics
